the visit to tekong today brought back a lot of memories. i still remember hw i felt when i enlisted the first day, confused and anxious. i didnt know what i will be going through. come to think of it the 1 year 10 months really passed by very fast. cant say that i have grown up over the 2 years, but i certainly learnt a lot of things, made a lot of friends, experienced a lot of things that i would never have experienced if i wasnt in the army. yea 2 years of army was quite a waste of time sometimes, but i think i have gained things that i would never have gained through my studies.

the most memorable thing that happened during my army was probably the training i had at taiwan. it was tough certainly but come to think of it i think that was the only training that i enjoyed throughout the 2 years. the night snack that we had...the weather over there and the R&R we had after our training, was certainly memorable. of cos there were low times like the late nights of cleaning of weapons, but overall it was a memorable experience. come to think of it, what one of the ict officers said was true. if the army was really such a traumatising experience and if we really didnt enjoy it, why do we still talk about the army over casual talks with our friends?

i think a lot of things in life, when you are going through they tend to troublesome and irritating. but when you look back in the future, you will appreciate what you went through and what you have gained. look on and you will find that the future is what you make it out to be.
