just came back from a telemarketing job interview at dbs. was told by kelly services that i need to reach there at 8.30, but i ended up waiting for 1 hour sitting at the reception area doing nothing. not exactly what i have pictured the waiting time to be, after going through the steven chong's interview workshop. i dont know how many people are they hiring, and i didnt know the nature of the job, thanks to kelly services which failed to tell me anything about the job. and the interviewers asked me if i know what i was going to do in this job as one of the questions -_-
it was a good experience as this is the first time i have gone for a proper job interview. i think the interview workshop is quite helpful, cos the first question they asked me was "tell me about yourself"haha. i dont think i did very well for the interview, and i dont think i will get the job cos they seem like they are looking for someone who can work for a full 2 months, but i can only work for less than 1.5 months at most?
it was quite stressful during the interview. i was in this small room with 2 interviewers, and they were taking turns asking me questions. the best thing is i sat down even before i was invited to do so. i was told to talk more about my previous jobs, and i found it hard to relate those jobs to things that will help me secure the job. things that i learnt during the workshop i found it hard to apply on the spot. looks like it was really necessary to practise and rehearse before interviews. later in the interview i was told to read this script which was something like introducing the department and promoting the product. it wasnt very tough but i felt like i couldnt speak properly.
overall an eyeopener and a good experience. i am sure when i apply for a full time job in a bank next time things will be worse. seems like i am destined to waste my holiday and grow fatter by the day.
=)
